Role

Splunk is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Category Lead to guide our Marketing & Sales (Marketing, Sales & Customer Success) sourcing & procurement function reporting to the Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement. The Category Lead - Marketing & Sales will have the responsibility for leading global sourcing projects across 30+ markets, making recommendations for vendor selection and process re-engineering to improve efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing strong business partnerships to collaborate on strategy across the business unit while driving category, supplier and sourcing strategies, to maximize value including optimizing use and reducing cost. You will provide management of the overall supplier relationship including negotiating pricing and contract terms as well as supplier performance and compliance. You will act as a trusted business partner, collaborating with management and other subject matter experts to develop category strategies, alternative solutions when necessary, advising on risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts.

Requirements

  • 12+ years’ experience in Indirect Sourcing
  • 4+ years’ Strategic Sourcing experience within the Marketing, Sales, Events and Customer Success categories
  • BS/A degree (or equivalent experience) required
  • Experience drafting necessary language to translate business needs into specific requirements for contract-related documents, e.g. master services agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOW), requests for proposals (RFPs), etc. Contract experience must include consulting, professional services, advertising, agency, and events/hotel agreements
  • Experience leading global sourcing responsibilities, including opportunity analysis and identification, supplier selection, compliance and risk evaluation
  • Ability to work independently with strong teamwork, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including, but not limited to, Security, Privacy, Legal and FP&A to provide end-to-end support to the business
  • Project management experience in a complex multi-project and multi-geography environment
  • Ability to develop strategic sourcing strategies in alignment with business initiatives
  • Experience with SAP/Ariba systems preferred

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $156,000.00 - 214,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $142,400.00 - 195,800.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year
